About Brigitte

Selecting, raising and breaking young horses is probably the most rewarding aspect of my "horse life". I grew up learning from and most influenced by Connie Bienvenue, a successful hunter, equitation and jumper rider. She had ridden with the highly recognized trainers such as George Morris, Paul Valiere, Mark Junger, and Linda Kossick-Landamere, to name a few. Connie was my idol, a heroic horsewoman, who had yet to be discovered. I studied her training ringside for hours on end and rode under her tutelage until a back fracture ended her world of horses.

My thirst to learn lead me down a path of trainers from many disciplines, all of which I have learned from. My personal favorite, Jerry Kenney is a hero to me (and to many others). I consider each and every moment with him a blessing. Jerry possesses a supernatural ability to train & teach combined with incomparable integrity, humility, and generosity. If only all horsemen could be as talented and modest as he.

Through listening, watching, experiencing and experimenting, I have taken with me as many training methods as I have left behind. Although I remain a "ring side analyst", I now depend on my own methods for breaking, constantly modifying my approach to meet the needs of each horse. The joy for me in teaching is learning, revisiting the commonalities as well as discovering the differences between each equine. Every horse is a new student offering a new challenge, a new adventure, and continued learning that I am honored to be a part of.
